Israeli forces violate ceasefire again, launch airstrikes on Lebanon’s Bekaa region
Despite the ceasefire agreement, the Israeli occupation army carried out new airstrikes on Lebanon’s southern Bekaa region, once again violating the fragile truce.
The Israeli occupation army confirmed on Thursday that its warplanes had targeted several locations in Lebanon’s Bekaa region. Local Lebanese media reported that the attacks struck rural areas, sending plumes of smoke into the sky.
Footage shared on social media showed thick clouds of smoke rising from multiple sites following the strikes. Lebanese authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding possible casualties or the extent of the damage.
The airstrikes mark yet another violation of the ceasefire agreement signed between the occupation regime and Hezbollah in November 2024. According to Lebanese sources, the occupation army has breached the truce more than 4,500 times since it came into effect.
The renewed aggression comes amid heightened tensions along the border, where residents have repeatedly called for international protection against ongoing Israeli incursions and surveillance operations.
The war between the occupation regime and Hezbollah, which began in October 2023 and escalated into a large-scale offensive by September 2024, left more than 4,000 people martyred and around 17,000 wounded, mostly civilians.
Lebanese observers warn that continued Israeli provocations threaten to collapse the already fragile ceasefire and drag the region back into full-scale confrontation.(ILKHA)
