Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has accused the United States of waging an ongoing campaign of psychological warfare and destabilization against his country, warning that the Bolivarian Republic will not surrender its sovereignty to imperial aggression.

Speaking during a nationally broadcast address on state television, Maduro said that the US continues to threaten Venezuela through military intimidation and information warfare.

“We are threatened daily by the US empire — a daily psychological war. Words back and forth. They move a ship, they move a missile,” Maduro declared. “Their goal is regime change, but they will fail, as always. The Venezuelan people are awake, conscious, and determined to defend their homeland.”

The president emphasized that the unity between the people and the armed forces remains unbreakable, forming the cornerstone of Venezuela’s defense against external attempts to subvert its independence. “Our military and our people are one. Together, we will defend our land with reason, calm, and revolutionary determination,” he added.

Earlier, Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López confirmed that Venezuela’s armed forces have maintained a full deployment along the nation’s coastline to ensure “optimal readiness” amid the heightened US naval presence in the Caribbean.

“The Bolivarian National Armed Forces are alert and prepared to guarantee Venezuela’s sovereignty in the face of foreign provocations,” Padrino stated.

Caracas has condemned Washington’s recent military movements as a clear act of provocation intended to pressure and destabilize the country. The United States, however, has attempted to justify its naval operations by claiming they are aimed at combating drug trafficking — an allegation the Venezuelan government has consistently denounced as a baseless pretext for aggression.

For years, Venezuela has accused the US of economic warfare, sabotage, and illegal sanctions designed to cripple the nation’s economy and force political change. Despite these pressures, the Maduro government continues to assert its commitment to independence, regional peace, and the principles of the Bolivarian Revolution.

“The empire’s threats will not intimidate us,” Maduro concluded. “Venezuela will remain free, sovereign, and dignified — no matter how many ships or missiles they move.” (ILKHA)
