Israeli occupation forces murder two Palestinian children in Jenin camp

The brutality of the Israeli occupation claimed the lives of two Palestinian children on Monday evening after soldiers opened fire indiscriminately inside the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed that 14-year-old Islam Majarmeh was shot dead on the spot, while another child, Mohamed Alawneh, later succumbed to his critical injuries. Both were targeted as Israeli forces stormed the camp and fired live ammunition at residents.
Local eyewitnesses reported that occupation soldiers deliberately fired at unarmed civilians, including children, as they attempted to enter the camp to check on their homes. Several other Palestinians sustained serious gunshot wounds and were rushed to hospitals by Red Crescent ambulance crews.
In addition to the killings, the invading forces carried out a wave of abductions, kidnapping at least eight citizens and forcibly detaining them in a house inside the camp. Residents described the operation as yet another act of collective punishment aimed at terrorizing the population of Jenin.
Palestinian factions and human rights groups condemned the attack, stressing that the deliberate killing of children constitutes a war crime under international law. They called on the international community to break its silence and hold Israel accountable for what has become a systematic policy of targeting civilians in the West Bank.
Since the escalation of violence in October 2023, Jenin refugee camp has been repeatedly raided by Israeli occupation forces, leaving behind martyrs, mass arrests, and widespread destruction of homes and infrastructure. The killing of Islam Majarmeh and Mohamed Alawneh adds to the ever-growing toll of Palestinian children slaughtered by Israel’s military machine. (ILKHA)
