The Israeli occupation has relentlessly attacked the city of Jenin and its refugee camp for the twenty-second consecutive day, resulting in the deaths of at least 25 Palestinians, dozens of injuries, and widespread destruction of infrastructure and property.
At dawn today, occupation forces stormed Jenin’s eastern neighborhood, deploying military bulldozers to tear through streets, destroy citizens’ vehicles, and raze essential infrastructure. Snipers were reportedly positioned on the rooftops of high buildings, further endangering civilian lives.
Assistant Governor Mansour al-Saadi reported that these assaults have not only devastated the Jenin camp but have also forcibly displaced more than 20,000 people. “The occupation’s continuous raids have wreaked havoc in our communities,” al-Saadi said.
The economic impact of these attacks is equally severe. Mohammad Kamil, director of the Jenin Chamber of Commerce, told WAFA that the city’s market is completely closed, noting that Jenin has experienced closures exceeding 25 days since the start of this year. He described the situation as a deliberate effort by the occupation forces to dismantle the local economy, affecting nearly 1,400 shops and causing a marked decline in purchasing power, as well as hindering the transportation and distribution of goods.
Jenin Mayor Mohammad Jarar revealed that over the past three years, the city has suffered economic losses exceeding $2 billion in damaged infrastructure, buildings, and commercial properties, following 104 continuous raids. “This aggression and forced displacement is the worst ever witnessed. Our city is facing a disaster on every level,” Jarar said, lamenting the displacement of 15,000 civilians amid increasingly dire economic conditions.
For the 22nd consecutive day, the occupation forces have continued to demolish and burn citizens’ homes in the camp. Drone surveillance has intensified over the area, underscoring the systematic nature of the assaults. In addition, the Israeli military has destroyed parts of the street leading to Jenin’s purification station and continues to deploy reinforcements, including bulldozers, in and around the camp.
The situation at Jenin Governmental Hospital remains critical. Israeli forces have besieged the facility, bulldozing its entrance and the main street leading to it. For the twenty-first consecutive day, hospital departments have been operating under severe shortages of potable water, hampering their ability to provide essential care amid the ongoing conflict.
In a further act of aggression, Israeli occupation forces burned an agricultural barn in the village of Al-Jadeeda, east of Jenin, yesterday, adding to the litany of destruction affecting the region.
As the Israeli occupation continues its brutal campaign against the Palestinian people in Jenin, local authorities and humanitarian organizations are calling on the international community to hold the occupation accountable for its violations of international law and the relentless assault on Palestinian life and property.
