OCHA: 92% of Gaza homes destroyed by Israeli aggression

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has reported that a staggering 92% of homes in the Gaza Strip, amounting to approximately 436,000 dwellings, have been destroyed or damaged as a result of the recent Israeli aggression.
Furthermore, a distressing 90% of the Palestinian civilian population has been displaced from their homes.
Rick Peeperkorn, the WHO Representative in Palestine, acknowledged the ceasefire announcement as a source of hope, but cautioned that the challenges ahead are immense. He emphasized that the scale and complexity of the situation, coupled with existing constraints, will make the process of addressing the enormous needs and restoring the health system incredibly difficult.
The ceasefire in the Gaza Strip came into effect yesterday at 11:15 am, following a delay of over two and a half hours. This delay was attributed to the Israeli occupation authorities' insistence on receiving the list of female prisoners scheduled for release before implementing the ceasefire.
Since the onset of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023, at least 46,913 Palestinians have tragically lost their lives, including 17,581 children and approximately 12,048 women. Additionally, more than 110,750 Palestinians have been injured, while an estimated 11,000 remain unaccounted for, presumed to be trapped under rubble or missing in the streets. (ILKHA)
