The Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement (PIJ) announced that a high-level delegation will arrive in Doha this evening to participate in the final stages of a ceasefire agreement with Israel.

This announcement follows statements from Qatari officials indicating that a cease-fire deal is imminent. Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari confirmed that a draft agreement has been presented to both Hamas and Israel, with major obstacles on key contentious issues having been addressed.

Hamas has also confirmed that a ceasefire and prisoner swap agreement is in its final stages.

Despite international condemnation and a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire, Israel has continued its brutal assault on Gaza, resulting in the tragic deaths of over 46,600 people, primarily women and children, since October 7, 2023. (ILKHA)
