A high-profile meeting took place between various Resistance factions and senior Iranian military leaders on the sidelines of the funeral ceremony for the late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his companions.
The meeting included Major General Hossein Salami, Chief of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), and Brigadier General Esmail Qaani, Commander of the IRGC Quds Force. They were joined by representatives from Hamas, the Islamic Jihad Movement, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), Hezbollah, Ansar Allah in Yemen, and the Islamic Resistance in Iraq.
The talks focused on the political, social, and military conditions in Gaza, the ongoing Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, and the role of the Axis of Resistance in response to the ongoing Israeli actions in Gaza. The participants emphasized the importance of continued cooperation among all Resistance factions in the region to ensure the victory of the Palestinian Resistance.
Separately, Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas, met with Iranian Supreme Leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei. The meeting followed the funeral prayer led by Khamenei for President Raisi and his delegation, who perished in a helicopter crash on May 20.
Haniyeh conveyed his condolences on behalf of the Palestinian state and people to Khamenei and the Iranian nation. In return, Khamenei expressed gratitude for the solidarity shown by the Palestinian people, particularly those in Gaza, and offered condolences for the martyrdom of Haniyeh's children.
Khamenei highlighted the resilience of the Gaza population, noting the global support it has received. He pointed out the unexpected solidarity from diverse groups, including the "US student Intifada," which signifies the unprecedented levels of support for the Palestinian cause.
Hundreds of thousands of Iranians gathered in the streets of Tehran to mourn on the designated official day of mourning for President Raisi and his companions. (ILKHA)
