Six civilians killed in Gaza drone strikes despite ceasefire

At least six Palestinian civilians were killed on Tuesday when Israeli drones targeted residents in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood east of Gaza City, despite a ceasefire agreement being in effect for the fifth consecutive day.
Medical sources in Gaza confirmed that the victims were inspecting their homes when the drone strikes occurred. The attack underscores the fragile and tenuous nature of the ongoing ceasefire, which was intended to halt hostilities after more than two years of Israeli aggression in the enclave.
The Gaza health ministry reported that the overall death toll from the Israeli offensive since October 7, 2023, has now reached 67,869 martyrs, with 170,105 others wounded. Many remain trapped under rubble or in the streets, as emergency services struggle to reach affected areas amid the widespread destruction.
The incident highlights continuing challenges for humanitarian access in Gaza. Ambulance crews and civil defense teams face significant difficulties navigating the heavily damaged infrastructure, slowing rescue efforts and medical response.
Despite the ceasefire, the situation illustrates the ongoing vulnerability of civilians and the urgent need for sustained protection and reconstruction efforts in the Gaza Strip. (ILKHA)
