Heavy snowfall has led to the closure of numerous settlements in the eastern provinces of Van and Bitlis.
In Van, 163 settlements, including neighborhoods and hamlets, were rendered inaccessible due to the heavy snow, which reached a depth of 35 centimeters in some areas. Snow removal operations are currently underway.
Meanwhile, in Bitlis, 107 out of 165 village roads that were initially closed due to snowfall have been reopened. Teams from the Road and Transportation Services Branch are working diligently to clear the remaining 71 roads, utilizing 71 construction equipment and 75 personnel across 10 different locations.
