A massive explosion has occurred in Somalia's Marko Town, approximately 110 kilometers southwest of Mogadishu.
According to initial reports, District Commissioner of Marka town Abdullahi Ali Waafow and other officials have been killed in the attack.
The suicide attacker approached the crowd and blew himself up minutes after a meeting at the district headquarters had concluded, local sources said.
The commissioner's bodyguards, traditional elders, and women also were killed in the attack, security sources confirmed. (ILKHA)
