Swedish children lead solidarity march against Israel’s genocide in Gaza

Children in Gothenburg, Sweden, took to the streets with their families to show solidarity with the people of Gaza, joining the growing global outcry against Israel’s ongoing genocidal assault on the besieged enclave.
The march, organized as part of international campaigns in support of Palestine, saw young children carrying Palestinian flags and chanting slogans of freedom. Many wore traditional Palestinian scarves, while others carried placards demanding an end to the massacres and the starvation imposed on Gaza.
Participants stressed that the presence of children at the forefront of the demonstration carried a powerful message: while Palestinian children in Gaza face bombs, starvation, and displacement at the hands of the Israeli occupation, children in other parts of the world are raising their voices to demand justice and peace for their peers.
“The children of Gothenburg are standing with the children of Gaza,” one organizer said, noting that while hundreds of Palestinian children are martyred every week, international protests are crucial to keeping the plight of Gaza visible to the world.
The march drew support from many residents of Gothenburg, who lined the streets, applauded the demonstrators, and joined in chants calling for an end to Israel’s crimes. Local civil society groups also expressed their solidarity, affirming that Sweden’s conscience cannot remain silent while Gaza is bombarded and starved.
The children’s march reflects a broader wave of international mobilization, as protests, boycotts, and solidarity campaigns intensify worldwide to hold Israel accountable for its ongoing genocide and siege.
By placing children at the heart of the demonstration, organizers underscored both the innocence of Gaza’s victims and the moral responsibility of the global community to rise in their defense. (ILKHA)
