The U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Thursday that Israel would turn over control of the Gaza Strip to the United States after the ongoing conflict ends, while emphasizing that no U.S. troops would be involved in the process.
In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump suggested that Palestinians would have already been “resettled in far safer and more beautiful communities” with modern housing elsewhere in the region before the transition occurs.
“The Gaza Strip would be turned over to the United States by Israel at the conclusion of fighting,” Trump wrote. He claimed that after Israel expels all Palestinians, the U.S. would assume administrative control without deploying military forces.
According to Trump’s vision, Gaza would be transformed into “one of the greatest and most spectacular developments of its kind on Earth,” with American-led teams collaborating with international developers. He reiterated that U.S. funds would not be used for reconstruction, stating that other countries would finance the rebuilding efforts to accommodate “the world’s people” in Gaza. Meanwhile, most Palestinians, under his plan, would be resettled elsewhere on a permanent basis.
Trump’s remarks have sparked controversy, adding to ongoing debates about Gaza’s post-war future and the role of international powers in the region. (ILKHA)
