Trump threatens Iran with more bombings on nuclear sites

U.S. President Donald Trump has once again issued threats against the Islamic Republic of Iran, boasting about what he called the “obliteration” of Iran’s nuclear facilities and declaring his readiness to strike again “if necessary.”
Trump, who posted a message Monday evening on his social media platform Truth Social, cited Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi’s remarks out of context, twisting diplomatic language into justification for what many are calling an illegal act of war. “Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, on the Iran Nuclear Sites: 'Damages are very severe, they are destroyed.' Of course they are, just like I said, and we will do it again!” Trump declared with belligerent pride.
This comes despite widespread skepticism over the actual effectiveness of Operation Midnight Hammer, the name given to the U.S. airstrikes launched last month. While early intelligence reports suggested only partial damage to nuclear sites — with key infrastructure at the Fordo enrichment plant reportedly left intact — Trump ignored facts to promote a narrative of American dominance.
Experts have since noted that the bombings might have set Iran’s nuclear program back by mere months, not years. Yet Trump and his media allies have aggressively promoted the attacks as a show of U.S. strength. "Fake News CNN should immediately fire their phony 'reporter' and apologize to me and the great pilots who 'OBLITERATED' Iran's nuclear sites,” Trump wrote, while railing against dissenting voices in the media.
Washington’s obsession with military solutions — even at the cost of global stability — has drawn condemnation from observers worldwide. Iran has labeled the strikes as a direct assault on diplomacy, warning that continued American aggression could derail any possibility of peaceful engagement.
In a measured response, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi clarified that Tehran remains committed to dialogue — but only under the condition that the United States ceases its acts of war. “Assurance should be provided that in case of a resumption of talks, the trend will not lead to war,” he said. “There should be a firm guarantee that such actions will not be repeated.”
The reckless bombing of sovereign Iranian facilities not only violated international law but also undermined ongoing diplomatic processes, making an already fragile geopolitical situation even more volatile. The attacks came just weeks after a 12-day war between Iran and Israel, which had already plunged the region into heightened instability.
Despite American warmongering, Iran has shown its willingness to return to the negotiation table. Talks with European nations — namely the U.K., France, and Germany — are set to take place this Friday in Istanbul. The discussions will focus on lifting illegal Western sanctions and reaffirming Iran’s right to a peaceful nuclear program.
"The topic of the talks is clear — lifting sanctions and issues related to the peaceful nuclear program of Iran," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei.
As the world watches, it is clear that the real threat to peace in the region is not Iran’s nuclear program, but the United States’ addiction to domination, militarism, and its utter disregard for international norms. Once again, it is the people of the Middle East who are left to pay the price for Washington’s pro-Israeli agenda. (ILKHA)
