Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan arrived in Spain on Friday to participate in a crucial meeting aimed at promoting a two-state solution to Palestinian issue.
The meeting, which brought together ministers from Muslim and European countries, was part of the Arab-Islamic Contact Group for Gaza and sought to push forward efforts for peace in the region.
The group includes countries such as Türkiye, Egypt, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, with Spain hosting the event. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez welcomed Fidan and other participants at his official residence, followed by discussions at the Foreign Ministry in Madrid, led by Spain's Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares. Josep Borrell, the European Union's foreign affairs chief, also participated in the talks.
The meeting underscored the need for the international community to work towards a clear schedule for implementing a two-state solution. Spain’s Foreign Minister Albares emphasized that the meeting's goal was to end the ongoing war in Gaza and provide a roadmap for peace. (ILKHA)
