Ukrainian President Zelensky visits special operations forces on national day

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made an unexpected visit to Donetsk Oblast on July 29 to commemorate the Special Operations Forces (SSO) national day.
The SSO has been actively engaged in the Bakhmut direction of Donetsk Oblast since 2016.
During his visit, President Zelensky expressed his gratitude and admiration for the SSO fighters, acknowledging their crucial role in protecting Ukraine and preserving its identity amidst the challenges posed by the ongoing conflict.
Zelensky also took the opportunity to hold discussions with Brigadier General Viktor Khorenko, the commander of the Special Operations Forces.
Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar had earlier reported that Ukrainian forces were making progress south of Bakhmut while successfully repelling attacks from Russian forces to the north.
This further highlights the significance of President Zelensky's visit to the frontline and his show of support for the Special Operations Forces on their national day. (ILKHA)
