Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories, has issued a stark warning regarding the possibility of Israel committing acts of genocide in the West Bank, akin to what she describes as genocide in the Gaza Strip.

This caution was expressed in a recent post on X in the wake of an assault by Israeli occupation forces on the city of Jenin and its refugee camp.

Albanese stated: "The crimes of genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinians will not be limited to Gaza, if it is not forced to stop." Her remarks come as the reported death toll from the latest incursion into Jenin rose to 10, including a child, with over 40 individuals injured.
