Istanbul Airport tops Europe’s busiest hubs with 1,464 daily flights

Istanbul Airport has once again claimed the title of Europe’s busiest airport, recording an average of 1,464 daily flights between April 7 and 13, according to the latest data released by the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL).
In its newly published European Aviation Report, EUROCONTROL confirmed that Istanbul Airport outpaced all other major European hubs during the seven-day period.
Trailing behind Istanbul were Amsterdam Schiphol Airport with 1,361 daily flights, London Heathrow with 1,344 flights, Paris Charles De Gaulle with 1,341 flights, and Frankfurt Airport with 1,309 daily flights.
The strong performance reinforces Istanbul Airport’s position as a key global aviation hub and a strategic transit point connecting Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Istanbul Airport’s continued growth comes amid a steady recovery in international air travel and reflects Türkiye’s increasing prominence in global aviation networks. (ILKHA)
