Türkiye’s defense and aerospace exports surge to $2.98 billion in 2025

Türkiye’s defense and aerospace sector has achieved a significant milestone, recording exports totaling $2.98 billion in the first five months of 2025.
This marks a 29% increase compared to the same period last year, according to Haluk Görgün, President of the Turkish Defence Industry Agency (SSB).
In a recent statement posted on his official social media account, Görgün highlighted the steady growth and diversification of Türkiye’s defense exports. He attributed the surge to increased international partnerships and a shift toward high-technology products.
“While the number of exporting companies increases day by day, our product composition is evolving in favor of high-tech systems,” Görgün said.
He further noted that Turkish defense and aerospace companies have expanded their reach beyond regional markets, now serving clients worldwide, a development credited to the SSB’s vigorous international cooperation efforts.
“Our companies can now export to all corners of the world, not just certain regions,” Görgün added.
Emphasizing the contributions of both large-scale corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), he reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to sustaining and expanding Türkiye’s presence in global defense markets.
“In the coming period, we will resolutely continue our international activities, making exports a core sustainability indicator for the entire sector,” he stated.
The defense sector now accounts for over 3% of Türkiye’s total exports, a benchmark Görgün described as a testament to the dedication of the entire “defense industry family.” He concluded his message by congratulating all involved in driving the sector’s export success. (ILKHA)
