Türkiye’s economic confidence index inches up to 98.0 in September
Türkiye’s Economic Confidence Index rose slightly by 0.1% to 98.0 in September from 97.9 in August, according to a statement released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Monday.
The marginal increase reflects mixed performances across key sectors. The real sector (manufacturing industry) confidence index saw a modest uptick of 0.2%, reaching 100.8. Retail trade confidence also improved, climbing 0.4% to 109.2, while the construction sector posted the largest gain, with its confidence index rising 3.6% to 88.3.
However, not all sectors showed growth. The consumer confidence index dipped by 0.4% to 83.9, and the services confidence index experienced a slight decline of 0.1%, settling at 111.0.
The data provides a snapshot of Türkiye’s economic sentiment, highlighting cautious optimism in manufacturing, retail, and construction, tempered by softer consumer and services confidence. (ILKHA)
