Türkiye's inflation sees annual increase of 61.98% in November

The Turkish Statistical Institute announced on Monday that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) witnessed an annual increase of 61.98% and a monthly rise of 3.28%.
The general index in the CPI (2003=100) changed by 3.28% compared to the previous month, 60.09% compared to December of the previous year, and 61.98% compared to the same month of the previous year. The twelve-month moving averages basis showed an increase of 53.40% in November 2023.
Among the main expenditure groups, housing recorded the lowest annual increase at 37.54%, while hotels, cafes, and restaurants marked the highest annual increase at 92.86%. In November 2023, clothing and footwear indicated the lowest monthly increase at -0.31%, while housing recorded the highest monthly increase at 11.17%.
In the index of 143 basic headings (Classification of Individual Consumption by Purpose-COICOP 5 Digit Level), 23 basic headings decreased, 7 remained unchanged, and 113 increased in November 2023.
The CPI indicator with specified coverage (B) saw an annual increase of 67.27% and a monthly increase of 2.53%.
Additionally, the CPI excluding unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and gold witnessed a monthly change of 2.53%, an annual change of 64.09%, an annual change of 67.27%, and a twelve-month moving averages basis change of 57.56% in November 2023. (ILKHA)
