Afghanistan urges Islamic nations to confront Israeli crimes

Afghan Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi delivered a speech at the 51st session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers, condemning Israel’s relentless assault on Gaza as a “ruthless war of genocide and historical erasure.”
Muttaqi described Israel’s actions as flagrant violations of international law and fundamental human rights, warning that the ongoing massacre of Palestinians is not only a humanitarian catastrophe but also a dire threat to international peace and stability.
“This is not just a war—it is an attempt to erase an entire people and their history,” Muttaqi stated. “The silence and inaction of the global community only embolden the aggressors.”
He issued a powerful call to action, urging Islamic nations to move beyond statements and adopt real, coordinated measures to confront what he termed Israel’s crimes against humanity.
Muttaqi also condemned Israel’s recent strikes on Iran, which killed commanders, scientists, and civilians, labeling the attacks as egregious violations of sovereignty and a clear breach of international law.
Framing his remarks within the broader context of shifting global power dynamics, Muttaqi said the decline of Western hegemony presents an opportunity for the Muslim world to reclaim its voice and unite around shared values. He urged OIC members to assert a collective Islamic identity in shaping a more just and multipolar global order.
Highlighting Afghanistan’s own transformation under the Islamic Emirate, Muttaqi described his country as a model of resilience and revival. “Afghanistan is no longer a symbol of war and despair,” he said. “It is now a beacon of unity, security, and Islamic progress, ready to engage in regional and global partnerships rooted in shared faith and purpose.”
He invited Islamic countries to invest in joint strategic, cultural, and economic initiatives that align with Islamic principles and support the Palestinian cause. (ILKHA)
