Ankara condemns Israel’s plan to expand genocidal campaign in Gaza

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has issued a strong condemnation of the Israeli government’s decision to expand its military operations in Gaza, describing the move as a continuation of a “genocidal policy” that threatens regional peace and stability.
In an official press release, the Ministry denounced the Netanyahu administration’s actions as an attempt to perpetuate genocide against the Palestinian people and extend the occupation, which it said inflicts severe damage on international peace and security and worsens the humanitarian crisis.
The statement emphasized that lasting peace in the region can only be secured through respect for international law, diplomacy, and the protection of fundamental human rights. Türkiye urged Israel to immediately halt its war plans, agree to a ceasefire in Gaza, and engage in negotiations toward a two-state solution.
Türkiye called on the international community to take urgent action to prevent the implementation of Israel’s plan, which it warned seeks to make Gaza uninhabitable and forcibly displace Palestinians from their lands. The Ministry also urged the UN Security Council to adopt binding measures to stop Israel’s violations of international law and humanitarian principles. (ILKHA)
