Gaza death toll surges to 57,523 in Israel’s ongoing genocidal war

The Gaza Health Ministry reported on Monday that at least 57,523 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s ongoing military campaign in the Gaza Strip since October 2023.
In the past 24 hours alone, 105 bodies were brought to hospitals, with 356 people injured, bringing the total number of injuries to 136,617.
The ministry highlighted the dire situation, stating: “Many victims remain trapped under rubble and on roads, as rescuers are unable to reach them due to the intensity of the attacks.”
Israel resumed its large-scale offensive on March 18, following the collapse of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement in January. Since then, 6,964 people have been killed and 24,576 injured, according to the ministry’s figures.
The international community has intensified scrutiny of Israel’s actions. In November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice over its conduct in the enclave.
