HÜDA PAR Leader Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu to represent party in Terror-Free Türkiye Commission

The Grand National Assembly of Türkiye is advancing the formation of the Terror-Free Türkiye Commission, a pivotal initiative aimed at eradicating terrorism and fostering national unity.
HÜDA PAR (Free Cause Party) Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu will represent his party in this significant parliamentary body, the HÜDA PAR Press Office announced today.
The commission is planned to consist of 51 deputies from nearly all political parties, with the notable exception of the İYİ (Good) Party, which has opted not to participate. The proposed party distribution includes: AK Party with 21 members, DEM Party with 4, MHP with 4, New Path Group (Future, Deva, Felicity) with 3, and one representative each from HÜDA PAR, New Welfare Party, Turkish Workers' Party (TİP), Labour Party (EMEP), Democratic Left Party (DSP), and Democratic Party. The main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), allocated 10 seats, has yet to confirm its participation, with ongoing discussions regarding its involvement.
The Terror-Free Türkiye initiative, first proposed in early 2025, seeks to address the persistent threat of terrorism through a comprehensive approach, including legislative reforms, enhanced security measures, and community-driven reconciliation efforts. The commission is tasked with drafting policies to dismantle terrorist networks, rehabilitate affected regions, and promote dialogue to strengthen social cohesion. It will also review past counter-terrorism strategies to identify gaps and propose innovative solutions tailored to Türkiye’s current challenges.
HÜDA PAR’s Press Office expressed strong support for the commission’s goals, stating, “We are confident that the decisions made will contribute to our country’s unity, reinforce the bonds of brotherhood, and elevate the welfare of our region.” Yapıcıoğlu, known for his vocal stance on regional stability and inter-community harmony, is expected to bring a unique perspective to the commission’s deliberations.
The commission’s work is anticipated to begin in September 2025, with regular sessions to evaluate progress and engage with stakeholders, including local governments, civil society organizations, and international experts. Public consultations are also planned to ensure the process reflects the aspirations of all Turkish citizens.
As Türkiye grapples with the complex legacy of terrorism, the Terror-Free Türkiye Commission represents a renewed commitment to peace and security. Observers view this multi-party effort as a critical step toward building a more resilient and united nation. (ILKHA)
