ITTIHADUL ULEMA decries Western hypocrisy amid Gaza and Sudan crises
The Union of Scholars and Madrasas (ITTIHADUL ULEMA) has issued a joint statement addressing the ongoing civil war in Sudan and the Israeli genocide in Gaza, expressing deep sorrow over the immense suffering faced by Muslims in both regions.
In the statement, the Union declared: “In these difficult days, we follow with sorrow the trials endured by the people of Sudan and Gaza.” The organization described the tragedies unfolding in both areas as part of a broader pattern of oppression targeting the Muslim world.
Highlighting the worsening humanitarian conditions, ITTIHADUL ULEMA said: “As in many parts of the Islamic world, today in Sudan as well, oppressed Muslims have become the target of tyranny, conflict, and hunger.”
The Union drew a clear connection between the crises in Gaza and Sudan, emphasizing that they stem from the same source of global injustice. “On one side, our Gazan brothers and sisters struggle to survive under the shadow of bombs and hunger; on the other, the oppressed people of Sudan fight for existence amid war and famine. From both lands, the same cry for help rises,” the statement read.
The Union strongly condemned the ongoing imperialist interventions and the West’s inhumane policies across Muslim-majority regions, asserting that “for years, the imperialist plots and Western massacres across the geography of the ummah have opened deep wounds in all our hearts.”
Calling for solidarity, patience, and prayer, ITTIHADUL ULEMA urged Muslims worldwide to remain steadfast in the face of these trials:
“We pray to our Lord to extinguish the fire of strife that has been fueled by the blood of the oppressed. We supplicate to Allah the Almighty to grant us the strength to end the oppression across the Islamic lands.”
The Union’s statement serves as both a condemnation of global injustice and a call for unity among Muslims, reaffirming its commitment to stand with the oppressed peoples of Gaza, Sudan, and the wider Islamic world. (ILKHA)
