Orphans Foundation urges solidarity with Gaza in Eid al-Adha message

The Orphans Foundation (Yetimler Vakfı) released a message on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, emphasizing themes of sacrifice, obedience to Allah, and solidarity with the oppressed, particularly in Gaza.
The statement, delivered by General Coordinator Cemil Cahit Ünsal, underscored the spiritual and social significance of the holiday amidst ongoing crises in the Islamic world.
In his message, Ünsal highlighted the essence of Eid al-Adha, describing sacrifice as a profound act of devotion. “Sacrifice is a means of getting closer to Allah,” he said, urging Muslims to emulate the submission of Prophet Ibrahim and his son Ismail. Beyond the ritual, he stressed the importance of sharing hope and joy with orphans, the needy, and the oppressed.
Ünsal expressed deep grief over the ongoing Israeli geocidal aggression in Gaza, resulting in the martyrdom of innocent children, women, and others. “The cries from Gaza shake the very heavens,” he said, calling the current Eid a somber moment for the Islamic Ummah. He also acknowledged suffering in other conflict zones like Yemen, reaffirming the foundation’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities.
The message encouraged Muslims to uphold Eid’s values through acts of kindness, such as visiting orphans, relatives, and the needy. “These virtuous deeds please Allah and must not be abandoned, despite the bloodshed and tragedy,” Ünsal noted.
The Orphans Foundation, known for its global outreach to vulnerable groups, extended Eid congratulations to the Islamic Ummah, with special prayers for those in Gaza and Yemen. Ünsal concluded with a hope that the holiday would bring “goodness and salvation” to all.
The foundation continues its efforts to provide aid and support to those in need, particularly in conflict-affected regions, during this sacred time. (ILKHA)
