The Turkish Ministry of Defense has confirmed the elimination of seven PKK/YPG militants in recent military operations conducted in northern Iraq and Syria.
According to the ministry's statement shared on social media, three militants were targeted in the Haftanin and Operation Claw-Lock regions of northern Iraq, while four militants were neutralized in the Peace Spring region of northern Syria.
Reaffirming Türkiye’s commitment to eliminating threats beyond its borders, the statement declared: "Wherever the terrorist is, that is our target. Our heroic Turkish Armed Forces neutralized 3 PKK terrorists identified in Haftanin and Claw-Lock Operation regions in northern Iraq and 4 PKK/YPG terrorists identified in the Peace Spring region in northern Syria. We will continue unpredictable, unusual, rapid, and continuous operations to destroy terrorism at its source."
Türkiye has been conducting cross-border military operations against the PKK and its affiliated groups, which it considers terrorist organizations, in both Iraq and Syria. The Claw-Lock Operation in northern Iraq aims to target PKK strongholds, while the Peace Spring Operation in northern Syria is part of Türkiye’s broader efforts to secure its southern border and prevent militant activity in the region.
