Turkish President Erdogan meets with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Istanbul

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Istanbul for closed-door talks at the Vahdettin Mansion on Saturday.
The meeting's agenda included discussions on the israeli aggression in Gaza and the conflict ignited by Russia's invasion of Ukraine, as reported by Italian sources.
Meloni's inaugural visit to Turkey aimed to reaffirm the strategic partnership between Rome and Ankara within NATO and in the Mediterranean basin.
The leaders were expected to address the enhancement of bilateral economic ties, preparations for the upcoming Joint Economic and Trade Commission (JETCO) meeting, and the reinforcement of cooperation on migration issues.
