Turkish, Serbian presidents discuss bilateral ties in phone call

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, discussing bilateral relations as well as regional and global developments.
During the call, President Erdoğan emphasized the growing friendship and solidarity between Türkiye and Serbia. He expressed Türkiye’s hope for a new government to be formed in Serbia as soon as possible, ensuring peace and stability in the country. He also reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with the incoming Serbian administration.
Erdoğan highlighted ongoing efforts to expand cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the defense industry, and expressed his expectation for these joint initiatives to yield results soon.
In addition, the Turkish president conveyed his well wishes to Vučić following a traffic accident involving his official car on February 8.
In a warm gesture, President Vučić took the opportunity to wish President Erdoğan a happy birthday.
