Youth in Diyarbakır rally for Gaza, condemn ongoing Israeli aggression

Hundreds of young people gathered in Türkiye’s southeastern city of Diyarbakır on Saturday to show unwavering solidarity with the people of Gaza, as Israeli occupation forces continue their relentless bombardment of the besieged territory.
The mass march, organized by the Da’wah and Youth Movement, marked the 602nd day of Israel’s brutal assault on Gaza following the launch of Operation Aqsa Flood.
Participants marched through the Bağlar district, beginning at Ahmet Bilgin Street near the old prison and heading toward Koşuyolu Park. Draped in keffiyehs and waving Palestinian flags, demonstrators chanted takbirs and pro-resistance slogans, making clear their support for Palestine and their rejection of the ongoing Israeli occupation and violence.
Upon reaching Koşuyolu Park, Hüseyin Oğuz delivered a passionate press statement on behalf of the Da’wah and Youth Movement.
“We Will Never Abandon Gaza”
In his speech, Oğuz condemned Israel’s continuous attacks, which have left tens of thousands of Palestinians dead or wounded, the vast majority of them civilians — including women, children, and the elderly.
“We are witnessing one of the most shameless genocides in modern history. Israel’s aggression, committed openly and with impunity, has shocked the conscience of the world,” he said.
He reaffirmed the group's commitment to Palestinian liberation, the defense of Al-Aqsa, and support for the resistance in Gaza.
“We will never allow Gaza to fade from the world’s agenda. We will continue our boycott of Israeli goods and those who support the occupation, and we will spread awareness until justice is achieved.”
“Global Solidarity Must Turn Into Action”
Oğuz praised the global mobilization in support of Gaza, noting the millions who have taken to the streets in recent months. However, he pointed out that protest alone has not stopped Israeli attacks.
“Israel has ignored every call for humanity and continues to escalate its crimes with impunity. Each day brings a new horror. The world’s outrage must be matched with meaningful action.”
He sharply criticized Arab governments for their silence and complicity, accusing them of turning their backs on Gaza for the sake of political alliances and economic deals. He specifically cited massive U.S. arms agreements with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar, describing them as acts of betrayal against the Palestinian cause.
“To the Arab Leaders: History Will Not Forgive You”
Oğuz concluded with a stern warning to Arab rulers who have failed to act, comparing them to tyrants of the past who faced divine and historical reckoning.
“Your silence is not just cowardice — it is complicity. You have abandoned your brothers and sisters in Gaza. But know this: history does not forget betrayal. The oppressed will not remain silent forever.”
The demonstration ended with chants of “Long live Gaza,” “Long live Palestine,” and support for the Palestinian resistance, including Hamas, which many in the region view as a legitimate force defending their homeland.
As the Israeli genocidal aggression on Gaza continues and humanitarian conditions worsen, voices from around the world — including Türkiye — are growing louder in their calls for justice, accountability, and freedom for Palestine. (ILKHA)
