Mahmut Şahin, the Deputy Chairman of HÜDA PAR (Free Cause Party), revealed on Wednesday his party's manifesto for the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections that are scheduled to take place in Türkiye on May 14.
HÜDA PAR has made the decision to support Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is the candidate of the People's Alliance, in the upcoming presidential elections. In addition, they will also be taking part in the parliamentary elections on the AK Party candidate lists.
During a press conference where the election manifesto was announced, Mahmut Şahin, the Deputy Chairman of HUDA PAR, highlighted the significance of Turkey being at a crucial crossroads as it enters the second century of the Republic.
According to Şahin, in the last 20 years, significant changes and progress have been made in favor of the nation in all fields from the economy to the defense industry, from education to health, in Turkey, which previously had an administrative approach that was completely reliant on foreign influences and vulnerable to external factors.
Şahin highlighted that the upcoming 2023 parliamentary elections present a significant opportunity and hope for the country's vision of the new century. He expressed that the first parliament of the second century, imbued with the same spirit and excitement of the first parliament of the first century, has the potential to undertake a historic task of rebuilding and reviving the country.
Şahin noted that the implementation of the Parliamentary System during periods of fragmented coalitions had led the country into economic, political, and social turmoil. He emphasized that in order to maintain stability in all areas of the country, they had decided once again to support Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is the Presidential candidate of the People's Alliance.
According to Şahin, the upcoming 2023 parliamentary elections present a significant opportunity and hope for the country's vision of the new century.
He stated that at this point, for the resolution of the problems that the country is facing, it is inevitable to have a renewal for individuals, society, and the state.
“To achieve this renewal, a new constitution is necessary. We believe that the new constitution should be based on justice and guarantee fundamental rights and freedoms without imposing any ideology or burden on future generations. It should be free from ideological, military, and bureaucratic tutelage, strengthen the separation of powers, ensure fair representation, and adopt an understanding of citizenship that recognizes equal enjoyment of rights as the basis for the existence and legitimacy of the state. The new constitution should embrace all segments of society and guarantee the right to education in the mother tongue for all citizens. No one should be forced to act against their faith, and women and children should be protected from violence and all forms of abuse. The family institution should be protected and strengthened, young people should be safeguarded against bad habits and vices, and the minimum wage and basic necessities should be exempt from taxation. Finally, a balanced budget should be mandatory for governments, and representatives of all segments of society should be involved in the constitution-making process,” Şahin said.
Şahin underlined that “it is necessary for HÜDA PAR to have a presence in the Parliament to achieve the Turkish-Kurdish brotherhood, which currently exists only in name due to its lack of legal basis, on a foundation of justice that eliminates disparities in language, identity, and regional development.”
Şahin emphasized that his party is opposed to the capitalist economy model based on interests, added: “In order to combat waste, bribery, and corruption, establish an economy that relies on production rather than consumption, promote fair income distribution, eliminate poverty and improve the welfare of the lower classes, as well as achieve social justice, it is crucial for HÜDA PAR to have representation in the parliament.”
Şahin said that agriculture and animal husbandry should be supported, agriculture-based industry should be encouraged, and the farmer's product should be guaranteed "value purchase".
Şahin emphasized the importance of observing competence and merit in personnel recruitment to state institutions, and highlighted the need to end unfair exclusion of successful and qualified individuals, favoritism, and nepotism in order to ensure justice.
Şahin stated that HÜDA PAR must be represented in the parliament to accomplish various tasks, such as providing moral education to new generations in addition to knowledge and skills, implementing a dynamic and productive vocational education system, making co-education optional rather than mandatory, and offering school bus and food support to students.
Furthermore, HÜDA PAR's election manifesto included various topics concerning both domestic and foreign policies, such as preventing all forms of violence and abuse against women, safeguarding the institution of family, re-criminalizing adultery, criminalizing the promotion of sexual perversion to protect the younger generation from harmful trends, amending Law No. 6284 and putting an end to the indefinite alimony practice, providing pension to women who have been married for 25 years or more, addressing the Palestinian issue, resolving the Kurdish question, and facilitating marriages.
