A 5.5-magnitude earthquake shook Madoi County in Golog Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, located in northwest China's Qinghai Province, at 3:44 p.m. Wednesday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The quake’s epicenter was pinpointed at 34.79 degrees north latitude and 97.51 degrees east longitude. The earthquake struck at a depth of 14 kilometers, the CENC reported.
No immediate reports of casualties or damage have been released, and local authorities are monitoring the situation closely. Further assessments are underway to evaluate the impact on residents and infrastructure in the region.
