82 killed in 24 hours as Israeli assault on Gaza enters day 644

The Israeli occupation's relentless assault on the Gaza Strip entered its 644th consecutive day Friday, marked by renewed massacres that killed dozens of Palestinians and left at least 10 children maimed in a single day.
The humanitarian catastrophe deepens as displaced civilians, already suffering from famine, face unrelenting bombardment with no safe refuge.
According to local sources and medical officials, at least 10 civilians were killed and dozens more injured — including many women and children — in two major Israeli attacks: one on a school sheltering displaced persons in northern Gaza and another on a home in the al-Shati Refugee Camp in Gaza City.
Children Maimed in Devastating Strikes
Late Friday night, Israeli warplanes bombed the Halima al-Sa’dia School in Jabalia al-Nazla, northern Gaza, where thousands of displaced Palestinians had taken shelter. Eyewitnesses and medics reported the attack killed at least eight civilians and injured many more, including women and children.
In a separate strike, Israeli forces bombed a residential home belonging to the al-Hassi family in the al-Shati Refugee Camp, west of Gaza City. The house had been sheltering displaced members of the Daher family. The explosion caused catastrophic injuries, with 10 children reportedly losing limbs due to the force of the blast and flying shrapnel.
Medical sources at al-Shifa Hospital confirmed receiving eight bodies and numerous injured individuals from the two attack sites. The scenes at the hospital were described as “horrific,” with doctors overwhelmed by the volume of casualties and the severity of injuries.
Ongoing Attacks Across Gaza
Israeli drone strikes in Gaza City’s al-Tunel area also resulted in several casualties. Meanwhile, in the al-Satr area north of Khan Yunis, Israeli occupation forces continued the systematic demolition of residential buildings.
Elsewhere in Khan Yunis, Israeli tanks reportedly besieged dozens of displaced families near the cemetery, bulldozed graves, and set fire to empty tents abandoned by forcibly displaced Palestinians.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that one of its paramedics was shot and wounded by Israeli forces in the Tahlia area during a humanitarian rescue mission. He was transferred to al-Mawasi field hospital for treatment.
The director of Gaza’s field hospitals stated that Israeli tanks are now advancing dangerously close to the Nasser Medical Complex, the largest health facility in southern Gaza. One civilian was killed and several others injured after coming under Israeli fire near the area.
Death Toll Rises
In the past 24 hours alone, Gaza’s hospitals have reported 82 new martyrs and 247 wounded from Israeli airstrikes, artillery shelling, and sniper fire.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said in its daily update that many victims remain trapped under rubble or lie dead in streets that remain inaccessible due to continuous bombardment and the collapse of emergency response capacity.
Since the beginning of Israel’s military campaign on October 7, 2023, the number of Palestinians killed has reached 57,762, with 137,656 injured, according to official figures from the Ministry.
The report added that since Israel broke the last truce on March 18, 2025, an additional 7,200 Palestinians have been killed and 25,615 wounded.
Global Silence Amid Genocide
The ongoing atrocities are taking place under complete international silence, with continued military and political support from the United States, and what observers describe as an unprecedented failure of the international community to intervene or stop the mass killing of civilians.
As Gaza's population faces famine, homelessness, and indiscriminate bombardment, rights groups continue to warn of the irreversible humanitarian collapse in the besieged enclave. Despite mounting casualties and horrific scenes, no ceasefire or effective intervention appears on the horizon. (ILKHA)
