Afghan and Iranian health officials hold talks to strengthen medical cooperation
Afghanistan’s Minister of Public Health, Mawlavi Noor Jalal Jalali, met with Iran’s Deputy Minister of Health Mehdi Pirsalehi and Iranian Ambassador Alireza Bigdeli to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in the health sector.
According to the Afghan Ministry of Public Health, the talks focused on strengthening collaboration in several key areas, including the production and import of medicines, medical equipment supply, traditional medicine, and laboratory services.
The Iranian delegation reaffirmed Tehran’s commitment to supporting Afghanistan’s healthcare needs, emphasizing readiness to export high-quality medicines and contribute to Afghanistan’s broader medical development efforts.
Officials from both sides expressed confidence that the expanded partnership would improve healthcare services in Afghanistan and lay the groundwork for long-term cooperation between the two neighboring countries. (ILKHA)
