Afghan authorities destroy 10 tons of illicit drugs in Nimruz

Afghan authorities have successfully eradicated a significant amount of illicit drugs in the western province of Nimruz.
According to provincial counter-narcotics director Abdul Wasi Raihan, 10 tons of contraband, including heroin, opium poppy, hashish, and drug manufacturing paraphernalia, were publicly incinerated on Saturday.
The seized drugs had been collected from various regions of Nimruz over the past four months. This action comes in the wake of the Afghan caretaker government's ban on poppy cultivation, drug processing, and trafficking, which was implemented in April 2022.
