Afghanistan seeks stronger economic ties with China

Afghanistan’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a favorable climate for foreign investment, with a special focus on deepening economic cooperation with China.
During a recent meeting in Kabul, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce Mawlavi Ahmadullah Zahid held discussions with a visiting Chinese delegation on potential collaborations in sectors including electricity generation, manufacturing, and construction.
Chinese representatives expressed strong interest in tapping into Afghanistan’s emerging market and requested the Ministry’s support in facilitating investments. Zahid welcomed their interest, stressing that Afghanistan is now positioning itself as a secure and promising destination for international investors.
He highlighted the government’s introduction of unprecedented incentives and facilities aimed at attracting foreign capital, noting that these measures are designed to boost industrial output and infrastructure development across the country.
The meeting marks a continuation of Afghanistan’s broader strategy to strengthen ties with global partners, particularly China, and to drive economic growth through strategic investment opportunities. (ILKHA)
