Al-Qassam Brigades, the valiant armed wing of Hamas, have announced the postponement of the scheduled release of Israeli captives set for Saturday, February 15, 2025, in the Gaza Strip.
Spokesman Abu Obeida took to Telegram to declare that the delay comes in response to severe breaches of the ceasefire agreement by the Israeli forces.
"The handover of the Zionist prisoners who were slated for release next Saturday will be postponed until further notice, and until the occupation abides by the terms of the ceasefire agreement and compensates for the past weeks retroactively," Abu Obeida stated. He highlighted that over the past three weeks, the resistance has meticulously documented the enemy's violations, which include delaying the return of displaced Palestinians to northern Gaza and targeting civilians with indiscriminate shelling and gunfire.
Abu Obeida emphasized the commitment of the resistance to the terms of the agreement, underscoring that such adherence is contingent upon Israel's compliance. "We affirm our commitment to the terms of the agreement as long as the occupation honors them," he declared, reflecting the Palestinian resolve to uphold peace when met with fairness.
This action by the Al-Qassam Brigades sends a clear message of resistance against the ongoing aggression and the need for accountability from the occupying forces. It calls for the international community to take note of the situation in Gaza, where Palestinians strive for peace, justice, and the right to return to their homes amidst continued hardships.
