The Directorate of Communications of the Turkish Presidency has been awarded the "Best Sustainability Project" by BUILD Magazine, a UK-based publication known for its focus on construction, architecture, engineering, and sustainability.
Fahrettin Altun, the Presidency’s Head of Communications, expressed pride in the global recognition for their commitment to sustainability, stating, "This award clearly demonstrates that our commitment to zero waste, environmental preservation, and nature conservation is recognized globally."
The prestigious award falls under BUILD Magazine's "Sustainable Building Awards," which spotlight projects excelling in environmental sensitivity and green technology. The Directorate's building was highlighted for its innovative approach to sustainable urbanism and its vision of a zero-waste environment.
Altun further elaborated on Türkiye's broader commitment to sustainability, mentioning the ongoing Zero Waste Project led by First Lady Emine Erdoğan. "Türkiye continues to do its part—and even more—not only within its borders but also in its region to promote more sustainable practices," he said, promising continued efforts in environmental sustainability.
The building itself is not just an example of sustainable architecture but also fosters a supportive environment for its staff. It includes various amenities such as museums, libraries, and social spaces. Last year, the Directorate opened the Communications Museum, which traces Türkiye’s 100-year history in communications, showcasing the evolution of media and technology. Additionally, the Specialised Library for Communication was established, serving a wide audience with an extensive collection of 12,443 resources.
Altun concluded by thanking his team and BUILD Magazine for acknowledging their efforts, reaffirming the Directorate's dedication to creating a more livable world for future generations through exemplary national and international projects. (ILKHA)
