The Hamas Movement has accused Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu of being responsible for the Palestinian resistance's decision to postpone the handover of Israeli captives, originally scheduled for release on Saturday, February 15.
In an interview with Al Araby satellite channel on Monday evening, Hamas spokesman Abdul-Latif al-Qanu alleged that the Israeli occupation government violated the ceasefire agreement in recent weeks, barring the entry of aid, fuel, and tents into Gaza.
"The occupation is waging a new war on the population of Gaza by barring the entry of aid and continuing its siege on the Strip," Qanu stated.
Qanu called on mediators to pressure the Israeli government to adhere to the ceasefire agreement's terms. He pointed out that Hamas had appealed to the mediators a week ago to ensure that Israel honors the first phase of the agreement.
"Hamas remains committed to the ceasefire agreement as long as the Israelis abide by its terms," he emphasized.
On Monday, Abu Obeida, the spokesman for the Brigades, posted on Telegram that the handover of Zionist prisoners, slated for release on February 15, would be postponed until further notice. He demanded that Israel retroactively compensate for the past weeks' violations. (ILKHA)
