Another day of carnage: 60 Palestinians killed by Israeli airstrikes amid global silence

Israeli forces carried out another devastating wave of airstrikes on the Gaza Strip on Thursday, killing at least 60 Palestinians — many of them women and children — in yet another escalation of a months-long onslaught that has claimed tens of thousands of civilian lives.
Palestinian medical teams confirmed that the majority of the deaths occurred in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, where residential homes and makeshift tents sheltering displaced families were bombed. Eyewitnesses reported scenes of horror as bodies, including children, were pulled from the rubble of targeted civilian areas.
Among the slain was local journalist Hassan Samour, who worked for Al-Aqsa Radio, operated under the Gaza government. He was killed along with 11 members of his family when an Israeli missile struck their home. His death highlights the growing toll on Palestinian journalists, many of whom have been deliberately targeted throughout the war.
The massacre occurred as U.S. President Donald Trump toured the Middle East and American and Arab mediators continued efforts to forge a ceasefire agreement. But Palestinian voices on the ground say such diplomatic gestures remain hollow unless they are accompanied by real accountability for Israel’s war crimes and an end to the siege on Gaza.
Rights groups have repeatedly condemned the targeting of civilian infrastructure and homes, describing Israel’s actions as a blatant violation of international law. Despite these warnings, the Israeli military continues its campaign with impunity, backed by billions of dollars in U.S. military aid and political cover.
As Gazans continue to dig mass graves, the world watches — yet again — as calls for justice are drowned out by silence and inaction. (ILKHA)
