Deadly storms ravage Pakistan’s Punjab, leave 20 dead and over 150 injured

Severe windstorms and heavy rains tore through Pakistan’s Punjab province over the weekend, claiming at least 20 lives and injuring more than 150 people.
The majority of casualties were caused by collapsing buildings and falling billboards, according to provincial officials.
The violent weather disrupted transportation, downed power lines, and triggered widespread blackouts. In Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, high winds and hail damaged crops and infrastructure, though no deaths were reported.
In a harrowing incident, flight FL-842 from Karachi to Lahore narrowly avoided disaster when it encountered intense turbulence during its landing approach.
Relief operations are underway as authorities assess the full scale of the destruction and provide aid to the affected communities. (ILKHA)
