Death toll in Gaza rises as Israeli attacks kill 38 more civilians in 24 hours

The brutal Israeli onslaught on the besieged Gaza Strip has claimed the lives of 38 more Palestinian civilians in the past 24 hours, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
The ministry also reported the discovery of two additional bodies from individuals previously declared missing, bringing fresh pain to families already torn apart by war.
In addition to the rising death toll, at least 208 people were injured during the most recent wave of airstrikes and bombardments that targeted various parts of the enclave, already devastated by over seven months of relentless assault.
Since the Israeli occupation forces resumed their military aggression on March 18, 2025, a staggering 4,335 people have been martyred and 13,341 wounded, the ministry confirmed.
This latest escalation raises the overall death toll in Gaza since October 7, 2023, to an alarming 54,607 martyrs, the majority of whom are women and children, while the number of wounded has surged to 125,341.
Emergency medical teams and civil defense workers continue to search through the rubble of bombed-out buildings in hopes of retrieving the bodies of those still unaccounted for. The health ministry emphasized that countless victims remain trapped under debris, especially in areas where rescue operations are obstructed by ongoing airstrikes and fuel shortages.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza remains catastrophic. Hospitals are overwhelmed, lacking basic medical supplies, and operating under extreme duress. The continued Israeli bombardment, described by many international observers and rights organizations as genocidal, has devastated the enclave’s infrastructure and displaced over 1.9 million people — nearly 85% of Gaza’s population.
Calls for an immediate ceasefire and unfettered humanitarian access have intensified globally, yet the Israeli occupation continues to defy international law and appeals from humanitarian agencies.
The Health Ministry concluded its statement by renewing urgent appeals to the international community, saying: “This genocide must end. Gaza is bleeding, and the world must act now.” (ILKHA)
