Dozens killed in US airstrike on migrant detention center in Yemen

Dozens of people were killed and injured following a brutal US airstrike targeting a migrant detention center in Yemen’s northern Saada province, local sources reported on Sunday.
According to eyewitnesses, US warplanes bombed a building housing African migrants at the Saada Correctional Facility, resulting in a devastating toll of deaths and injuries. Many of the victims were transported to nearby hospitals, while emergency teams continue their rescue and first aid efforts amid difficult conditions.
Medical authorities in Saada stated that hospitals are overwhelmed by the influx of casualties, struggling to provide critical care with severely limited resources. Casualty numbers are expected to rise as rescue operations continue at the strike site.
A Yemeni source condemned the attack, calling it "a new massacre in Saada" and "a testament to the level of American criminality, confusion, and failure." The source highlighted the extensive destruction and profound loss of life caused by the latest aggression.
The Saada strike followed earlier US attacks on Yemen, including four consecutive air raids on the Bart al-Anan district in al-Jawf governorate.
In a related development, the Yemeni Ministry of Health reported that 12 civilians — including two women and three children — were killed or wounded in a separate US airstrike on the capital, Sanaa, late Saturday night.
The renewed US bombardment campaign across Yemen has drawn sharp condemnation, with Yemeni officials and humanitarian organizations warning of escalating civilian casualties and deepening the already dire humanitarian crisis in the country. (ILKHA)
