Egypt deploys excavators to Gaza to recover bodies of Israeli captives
Egypt has sent a new group of excavators to the Gaza Strip to assist in the ongoing recovery of Israeli captives’ bodies, following recent Israeli attacks that have devastated Palestinian areas.
According to an official Egyptian source at the Rafah Border Crossing, the machinery entered Gaza via the Kerem Shalom Border Crossing to support efforts in removing rubble and searching for the remains of captives trapped under debris caused by the Israeli occupation forces.
The Arabic-language newspaper El-Arabi El-Jadid, citing an anonymous source, reported that 12 Egyptian excavators entered Gaza today, joining six vehicles that crossed the border at dawn on Sunday. This deployment comes as part of ongoing coordination to facilitate rescue operations in areas targeted by relentless Israeli bombardments.
Egyptian officials stated that the machinery’s primary mission is to clear large amounts of rubble left by the Israeli, open internal roads across southern and central Gaza, and support excavation operations to locate the captives’ remains. Cairo is reportedly preparing additional heavy machinery shipments to accelerate recovery efforts and help lay the groundwork for rebuilding Palestinian areas devastated by the occupation.
While emphasizing that Egypt’s role remains limited to humanitarian and engineering support, the operation underscores the critical assistance provided to Palestinians in Gaza, struggling under the consequences of ongoing Israeli aggression.(ILKHA)
