Erdoğan congratulates Pashinyan on re-election victory
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has extended congratulations to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan following the victory of the Civil Contract party in Armenia’s parliamentary elections held on June 7, 2026.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office in Yerevan, Erdoğan sent a message wishing Pashinyan success in forming a government for the third time and expressing confidence in his ability to advance regional peace and stability.
In the message, Erdoğan stated: “On behalf of my people and in my personal capacity, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you on the success achieved by the Civil Contract party led by you in the parliamentary elections held in the Republic of Armenia on June 7, 2026, and I wish you success in forming a government for the third time.”
“I am fully convinced that your strategic vision regarding the establishment of long-term peace and stability in the region, as well as ensuring the necessary cooperation in that direction, will be successfully brought to completion,” Erdoğan added.
The Turkish president concluded by wishing Pashinyan good health and the Armenian people prosperity and happiness.
The message marks a notable diplomatic gesture between the two neighboring countries, which have historically maintained tense relations but have seen efforts in recent years to normalize ties. Civil Contract’s victory secures Pashinyan another term as prime minister, allowing him to continue his administration’s agenda focused on domestic reforms and regional diplomacy. (ILKHA)
