In a heartwarming display of humanitarian effort, European Orphan Hand, renowned for its charitable work across continents from Africa to Asia, the Middle East to the Balkans, has successfully orchestrated its third mass circumcision event in North Macedonia.
The event, a part of the association's annual August initiative, aims to provide circumcision to hundreds of children who lack access to the procedure, thanks to the dedicated service of volunteer doctors from Türkiye.
Collaborating with local organizations for the past three years, European Orphan Hand has undertaken mass circumcision events in various North Macedonian locations, including Strumica city center, Bansko Village of Strumica, Kavadarci, Koçana, Delçova, Berova, Vinica, Demirkapı city centers, and Koreşnik Village of Demirkapı. Apart from the essential medical service, the association has also extended its generosity by presenting clothing and toys to the circumcised children.
Abdurrahman Altun, President of European Orphan Hand, spoke to Ilke News Agency (ILKHA) about the initiative, stating: "For three years now, we have been organizing our circumcision program in the Strumica region of North Macedonia. This has become a tradition for us, and we plan to sustain it. In the upcoming years, our intention is to continue conducting these circumcision activities based on the prevalent need."

Altun highlighted the significant role that volunteer doctors play in this charitable endeavor. He noted: "Muslim families in North Macedonia face challenges in providing circumcision for their children. Lack of resources and doctors hinders their ability to fulfill this Islamic obligation. Through the aid organization, we bring volunteer doctors from Türkiye who perform circumcisions for these children. Additionally, we offer gifts, toys, and clothing, thereby not only fulfilling their religious obligation but also bringing joy to their lives."
The President expressed deep gratitude for the dedication of the volunteer doctors and philanthropists who enable these actions. "We are immensely thankful to these doctors who selflessly contribute their expertise. Their voluntary efforts are vital to the success of this initiative. We extend our appreciation to the benefactors who support us financially. Their contributions play a pivotal role in ensuring the continuation of these meaningful endeavors," Altun affirmed, urging continued support for their noble cause.
The circumcision is an Islamic obligation, and many Muslim families in North Macedonia cannot afford to have their children circumcised. European Orphan Hand's mass circumcision event provides a much-needed service to these families and ensures that their children can fulfill their religious obligations.
The event also stands as a testament to the power of collaboration, compassion, and cross-border unity in making a positive impact on the lives of children and families in need. (ILKHA)
