Five Palestinian journalists killed in Israeli airstrikes within 12 hours

Five Palestinian journalists were killed in two separate Israeli airstrikes within a span of less than 12 hours, according to local sources.
In the first incident, three journalists lost their lives during an Israeli airstrike on a house in the an-Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza at dawn on Saturday. The victims were identified as Amjad Jahjouh, his wife Wafa Abu Dabaan, and Rizq Abu Shakyan. Reports indicate that the airstrike targeted the house of Abu Shakyan, where journalist Amjad Jahjouh and his family were staying. In total, 10 civilians from the families of Abu Shakyan and Jahjouh were killed in the attack.
Later that night, another Israeli airstrike on a house in the al-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City resulted in the deaths of two more journalists, Saadi Madoukh and Ahmed Sukkar. These journalists were among several martyrs recovered from the rubble of the bombed house.
Additional civilians were injured in the Israeli attacks on both the an-Nuseirat camp and Gaza City houses.
These incidents bring the total number of Palestinian journalists killed since the onset of the Israeli offensive on Gaza to 158.
The targeting of journalists has raised concerns over the safety of media professionals in conflict zones and has drawn condemnation from various human rights organizations. (ILKHA)
