French law mandates social media platform restrictions for minors

French legislators have approved a law that mandates social media platforms to block access for minors under the age of 15, unless they have obtained parental consent.
Failure to comply with this requirement will result in companies being fined 1% of their annual revenue, aiming to curb the pervasive influence of social networks on people's lives.
The responsibility to enforce the law has been entrusted to Arcom and CNIL, who are authorized to take legal action against those who violate the new legislation.
Similarly, restrictions will also be imposed on morally inappropriate websites, pending final approval. (ILKHA)
