Gaza faces catastrophic starvation: 13 more Palestinians killed

Medical sources in the Gaza Strip reported that 13 Palestinians, including three children, have died from famine and malnutrition over the past 24 hours, as Israel’s blockade and restrictions continue to cut off essential food supplies to the besieged territory.
The latest fatalities bring the total number of deaths from famine and malnutrition to 361, including 130 children, highlighting the escalating humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) officially declared famine in Gaza on August 22, 2025. Since that declaration, 83 deaths have been recorded due to starvation, including 15 children. The situation has worsened in recent days as continued restrictions on aid, medical supplies, and food make survival increasingly precarious for the Strip’s 2 million residents.
Health authorities emphasize that children are among the most vulnerable victims of the ongoing siege. Doctors warn that without immediate access to nutrition and medical support, the death toll will continue to climb, leaving entire families at risk of losing multiple members.
Medical sources and humanitarian organizations have repeatedly called for urgent intervention to allow the safe delivery of food, medicine, and other critical supplies to Gaza. The ongoing blockade, they say, amounts to collective punishment and exacerbates the suffering of civilians trapped in the territory.
“This is not a natural famine—it is a man-made humanitarian disaster,” a Gaza health official said. “Every hour without aid increases the death toll, particularly among children and the elderly.”
The crisis underscores the urgent need for global attention and action to prevent further loss of life, as families in Gaza face a mounting threat from starvation amid ongoing conflict. (ILKHA)
