Gaza health authorities urgently appeal for medical aid amid collapsing health system

Health authorities in the besieged Gaza Strip have issued an urgent appeal to the international community and humanitarian organizations, warning that the health and humanitarian situation in the enclave has reached a catastrophic stage due to the continued blockade and the lack of essential medical supplies.
According to officials from the Gaza Ministry of Health, thousands of patients and wounded civilians are in desperate need of proper treatment and access to fully equipped medical facilities, as hospitals across the Strip struggle to function amid severe shortages of medicine, fuel, and medical equipment.
Health authorities cautioned that the suspension of specialized and diagnostic services — including radiology, dialysis, and intensive care procedures — has drastically undermined the capacity of doctors to perform life-saving surgeries and complex medical interventions.
“The situation in Gaza’s hospitals is beyond dire,” the statement read. “Without the immediate entry of medical aid, electricity, and fuel, many of our patients — including children, the elderly, and the wounded — will lose their lives needlessly.”
Officials emphasized that supporting the few remaining operational hospitals in the Strip is an absolute humanitarian priority. They called for urgent international pressure to lift restrictions on aid convoys and to facilitate the entry of medical and humanitarian supplies that have been blocked at border crossings by the Zionist occupation authorities.
Doctors and health workers, who have been working around the clock under extremely difficult conditions, warned that if the crisis persists, Gaza’s fragile health system could collapse entirely, leaving the wounded and chronically ill with no access to medical care.
The appeal comes amid widespread destruction of hospitals and clinics caused by months of Israeli attacks, leaving much of Gaza’s medical infrastructure in ruins. Despite the hardship, Gaza’s health professionals continue to treat the wounded with limited resources and unwavering determination, embodying the resilience and steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the face of ongoing aggression and siege.
